Kayenta Animal Care Center

Kayenta Animal Care Center, the “KACC,” is a multipurpose animal resource center for the Kayenta Township and surrounding communities. 

Hours of operation

8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday – Friday

The Kayenta Animal Care Center is a department of the Kayenta Township Commission.  

Since the start of test case operations, KACC has sheltered displaced animals, provided veterinary care, assisted individual rescue efforts, and has worked with humane groups outside the Reservation. 

Preliminary Objectives: 
· Acquire support through other shelter organizations.  
· Obtain financial support through collaborating organizations, foundations, and grants.   
· Schedule low-cost and no-cost spay/neuter clinics.  
· Provide low-cost vaccination clinics.  
· Begin adoption and relocation programs. 
· Provide humane education, disease prevention seminars for pets (and possibly livestock), animal related public health lectures, etc. 
· Provide preliminary animal control services.
